Carers

A Carer is anyone who cares for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability or a mental health problem cannot cope without their support.

Caring can have an impact on many aspects of your life such as health and wellbeing, money and benefits, getting out and about, working and learning. Many carers can easily become socially isolated.

As a Carer you may not know what help and information exists. NEWCIS is the largest provider of Carer services in Wales and may be able to help. They offer an independent, confidential service to carers living in Flintshire.

The service provides:

  • Information
  • NEWCIS assessments and formal Carer needs assessments that identify your individual needs
  • Emotional support
  • Carer groups
  • Training
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Leisure card
  • Carers emergency card
  • Newsletter
  • Grants
  • Signposting to other organisations
  • Benefits advice/budgeting
  • Advocacy
  • Respite breaks
  • Counselling

For more information or to register, please contact NEWCIS on 01352 752525, email flintshire@newcis.org.uk or visit www.newcis.org.uk
